Our Promise

Your relationships are private, and the details you entrust to Keepah belong to you. We protect your data with strong encryption in transit and at rest, we never sell it, and we never use it to train AI models. Fields you mark as private or a profile you lock are end-to-end encrypted on your device, so even Keepah cannot read them.

1. What Keepah Is

Keepah is a relationship intelligence app that helps you remember the important details about the people in your life. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Your email address (for authentication)
  • Your name (as you provide it)
  • OAuth identifiers from Apple or Google sign-in

Your Relationship Data

The profiles, journal entries, chat messages, and personal notes you create are your data. This includes names, preferences, important dates, gift ideas, and any notes you record.

Device Information

  • Device platform for push notifications
  • App version for compatibility
  • Device token for notification delivery

Anonymous Analytics

We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve Keepah. This data cannot be traced back to you.

3. How Your Data Is Protected

Encryption in Transit and at Rest

All communication between your device and Keepah's servers uses TLS encryption. All data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest with AES-256.

Opt-in End-to-End Encryption

You can mark any profile as Locked (biometric-gated) or any journal entry as Private. When you do, those fields are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before they leave it. The encryption key is generated on your device, stored in your device's secure enclave, and never shared with Keepah. For these specific fields, even Keepah cannot read your data.

What Keepah Can Read

To power your AI assistant and relationship memory, Keepah's servers can read your chat messages, memories, regular profile details, and regular journal entries. Our AI needs to read this content to respond to you, remember details, and generate insights. Access is limited to a small team under strict operational controls. We do not sell, rent, or share your data, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Local-Only Option

You can disable cloud sync in Settings and keep all data exclusively on your device. In this mode, AI features that depend on server access become limited.

4. AI Features

When you use the AI chat feature:

  • Your messages are processed by Keepah's AI system, which uses trusted third-party AI service providers as subprocessors
  • We send only the minimum context needed
  • Our subprocessors do not use your data to train their models
  • AI features are entirely optional
  • See our subprocessors list below for the current providers
  • We may change our AI providers from time to time; the subprocessors list will always reflect the current stack

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Provide and maintain the Keepah service
  • Authenticate your identity
  • Send notifications you opted into
  • Process subscription payments
  • Improve our service based on anonymous usage

We will never:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Use your data for advertising
  • Share your data with data brokers
  • Access the content of fields you have marked private or locked
  • Use your data to train AI models

6. Third-Party Services

  • Apple / Google, authentication
  • OpenAI, AI chat (not used for training)
  • Stripe / Apple IAP, payment processing
  • Resend, transactional emails
  • AWS, encrypted file storage

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • All data is permanently deleted from our servers
  • Your encryption key is removed from your device
  • This action is irreversible
  • Deletion completes within 30 days

8. Your Rights

  • Access, view all data in the app
  • Delete, permanently delete your account
  • Withdraw Consent, disable cloud sync, notifications, or AI anytime

9. Children's Privacy

Keepah is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
